An introduction to the principles of Islamic finance — Islamic rulings surrounding wealth, trade, contracts, ribā, investments, insurance, mortgages, and contemporary financial transactions. Students learn how Islamic principles apply to everyday financial decisions in the modern world.
By the end of the course, students will understand the core principles of Islamic finance, identify common practices that comply with or contradict the Sharīʿah, and make informed financial decisions based on Islamic teachings.

Continuing with First Steps to Understanding Arabic, students strengthen their understanding of advanced grammar while reading and analyzing passages from the Qur'ān.
