The Al-Itqaan Ibn Abbas Program — Building foundations of Islamic knowledge
The Meaning

Itqaan — to do something with precision and excellence.

The name carries the entire intention of the program. Knowledge studied carefully, practised honestly, and built upon over time.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ إِذَا عَمِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَمَلًا أَنْ يُتْقِنَهُ

Indeed, Allah loves that when one of you does something, he does it with excellence.

The four-year pathway

Four years. A foundation built for lifelong learning.

Al-Itqaan is a comprehensive four-year journey through the foundational sciences of Islam. Each year builds upon the last, developing students from essential knowledge and Arabic literacy toward deeper engagement with the Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah and the Islamic scholarly tradition.

I
Year 1

Foundations of Knowledge

The essential building blocks of Islamic learning. Students are introduced to Arabic, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Tajweed, Seerah, Tazkiyah, Hadith and Qur'anic sciences, establishing a strong foundation for the years ahead.

II
Year 2

Building Fluency

Students expand their knowledge and begin connecting the sciences together. Arabic develops toward greater comprehension, while Fiqh, Seerah, Aqeedah, Tazkiyah, Hadith and Qur'anic studies become more detailed and applied.

III
Year 3

Deepening Understanding

Students move from learning the foundations to engaging with them more critically and confidently. Greater emphasis is placed on Arabic reading, classical texts, Hadith methodology, Qur'anic sciences and developing a deeper understanding of the Islamic scholarly tradition.

IV
Year 4

Preparing for Scholarship

The culmination of the four-year pathway. Students engage with more advanced texts and concepts, strengthen their ability to study independently, and bring together the knowledge and skills developed throughout the program — preparing them to serve the Ummah, and for further study in Aalimiyyah and beyond.
